CRESCO CRESCIS CRESCIMUS /Fashion Master's Degree Final Collection / 2021

Cresco crescis crescimus
From latin "I grow, you grow, we grow"

Cresco crescis crescimus is an ode to the evolution and natural growth of the body.
It is a summer fashion collection inspired by botanical illustration and scientific journaling as a method of studying, documenting and recording the growth of a plant, understanding this process as a way of slowly discovering, accompanying and respecting what is studied.
It vindicates beauty in imperfection, in the organic and spontaneous creation process, in quotidianity, as well as manual and artisan work.
Motivated by the designer's love for natural shape and natural growth, this collection is structured from organic forms, delicate and curvilinear structures inspired by nature (flowers, the movement of water, the reflection of sunlight ...), made from "moulage" techniques, exploring with tissue on the mannequin, spontaneously, fleeing from the “perfect” straight line. It also wants to reflect the beauty of the imperfection in the garment, showing the trace of its process of creation, of its history.
On one hand, light-weight knitted fabrics are incorporated, molded and draped over the body, looking for a hugging and second-skin feeling. On the other hand, more stuctured fabrics are used to create volumes and silhouettes inspired by organic shapes are sought, such as flowers, fruits, or ceramic vases. Crochet is also an important part of this collection, making reference to cellular tissue and the  "links" between generations of artisans.
By emphasizing the artisan work and a slow creation process, this project defends a slow fashion perspective and joins the growing interests on sustainability in fashion.
